It’s everywhere, in everything: my clothes, my furniture, the walls. I can’t escape it. I have dreams about waking up in the morning with it growing all over me.
I live in a cloud, which I used to think would be cool when I was little. It’s not. It's hell. I swear, somewhere nearby my town, hidden, is the world’s biggest humidifier and it’s been going full blast for the last three weeks. Will somebody please turn it off?!?!
Nothing dries, ever. I forever smell of chlorine from bleaching everything in sight. Too bad once I’m done bleaching whatever it is, it’s too cool and humid for it to dry, so I’m probably just creating more mold.
I need sun. I need dry heat. I need it to stop raining. Could someone please take care of that for me? Thanks.

Updating for updating's sake
Well, not much new to report since my last post, but thought I'd say hi anyway. School is winding down for the year. Friday is the last day of classes--a date that wasn't known until Friday of last week. So that was fun, trying to plan all the end of the year activities without actually knowing when the end of the year is.
That's been frustrating, but I'm excited for the upcoming vacation. I'm going to start taking Popti' classes. That's the name of the Mayan language spoken in my region. It sounds like it's going to be hard but I really want to learn a little bit so I can communicate more with my students' parents.
Last weekend I went to a Halloween party with some volunteers in Coban. It was a welcome party for the new volunteers who swore in in July. A bunch of friends and I all dressed up as characters from the Wizard of Oz. I was the Wizard. But I ended up looking more like Beethoven/Doc Brown from Back to the Future.
In about 10 days my friend Katie and I are going to make the trip to the Peten (the northern part of Guatemala) to go see Tikal, Mayan ruins reputed to be some of the most amazing in the world. Afterward we're going to volunteer for a week with a shelter that rescues, rehabs and releases exotic animals from the black market. I really can't wait. It's going to be absolutely amazing! And don't worry, I plan on taking plenty of pictures.
That's about all I have to report for now. Peace out, mah homies!
